These beautifully struck 2003 Macau Silver Lunar GOAT coins are interesting issues in that the 03 and 04 Monkey are not considered part of the series set pieces.

It is highly unlikely that the Mints issued near the planned mintage numbers due to the fact that the future continuation of the Macau Silver series lunar coins was suspect. The Macau series has since become extremely popular among both investor and collectors selling out at the mints yearly.

Although, it is not recognized by many. It is possible to consider these unique years as part of the third series silvers. Thus making series one (1979-1990), series two (1991-2002) and series three years (2003-2014). This would be consistent with series one and two in that they begin with the year of the Goat and end with the year of the Horse.
