The Berlin Coin Fair 1 oz Silver “Otto Beh Dies” release would be the sister medal to this Macau Coin Society Grand Prix silver Panda issue.

Only these two Coin Show medals designs were issued in commemoration of the “Otto Beh dies” travels through Macau and their home resting place in Kunstmuseum Moritzburg in Halle (Saale), Germany.

The “Otto Beh Dies” were exhibited and on display at the Macau and Berlin World Money fairs and provided attendees a rare glimpse at these vintage coin dies.

About the Macau Coin Society Grand Prix/Panda Medal issues:

In 2014, Champion was authorized by Macau Numismatic Society for the first time to mint the 2014 Commemorative Show Panda, and in Champion’s December 2014 Macau sale, a gold Commemorative Show Panda with serial number 001 sold for USD 43,700 and another silver show panda with serial number 001 sold for USD 24,150. All proceeds were donated to Macau Numismatic Society for promoting numismatics in Macau.

Obverse design

The obverse depicts the well-known landmark of Macau Mazu Temple (also A-Ma Temple), two Grand Prix racing cars with a goat on the front of No. 5 racing car. The background design, as a whole, looks like the floral emblem of Macau SAR–lotus. On the other hand, the background lines highlight the dynamic of the racing cars, representing the regional feature of Macau. It also bears the English and Chinese of “2015 Macau Numismatic Society Annual Expo 12/3-8”.

Reverse design

The reverse features the logo of Macau Numismatic Society, the two pandas presented by the central government of China to Macau in 2015 against a bamboo background and Otto Beh dies. The Otto Beh dies will be on display in Macau during the Macau Numismatic Society Annual Expo to promote numismatic culture. So it is written “Otto Beh Dies Macau Special Display” “Shanghai Mint Co., LTD.” in Chinese and “Macau SAR of China” in English
