2004 China “Centenary of the birth of Deng Xiaoping” silver coin

The Century of the Birth of Deng Xiaoping is legal tender in the People’s Republic of China. Issued by the People’s Bank of China and minted by the Shenyang Mint.

The obverse depicts the title of the PRC, the year date, the exhibition hall of Deng Xiaoping’s former residence at Guangan of Sichuan Province and the Centenary of the Birth of Deng Xiaoping” in Chinese.

The reverse features in the foreground the portrait of Deng Xiaoping in the 1950s and 1960s when he was the General Secretary of CPC Central Committee, while in the background is the decorative design of the steelworks and ears of grain symbolizing respectively the industry and agriculture, and traditional Chinese catigraphy “Deng Xiaoping”, the words 1904-2004 and the face value.
