Description

The People’s Bank of China issued a 2014 Chinese Sacred Buddhist Mountain (Mount Emei) Gold & Silver Set of commemorative coins for Chinese Sacred Buddhist Mountain (Mount Emei). The set consists of 1/4 oz Gold and 2 oz Silver which are the legal tender of the People’s Republic of China.

I. Design of the coins

i. Obverse design

The set of gold and silver commemorative coins bear the common obverse of the National Emblem of the People’s Republic of China, the title of P.R.C. And the year date.

ii. Reverse design

The reverse of 7.776g (1/4oz) gold coin features the statue of Samantabhadra, the bodhisattva of universal benevolence, at Baoguo Temple, the words “Samantabhadra,Mount Emei” in Chinese and the face value.

The reverse of 62.208g (2oz) silver coin features Wannian Temple, the words “Wannian Temple, Mount Emei” in Chinese and the face value.

III. The set of gold and silver commemorative coin is minted by Shenzhen Guobao Mint Co., Lt and solely distributed by China Gold Coin Incorporation.
