2016-1995 Beijing International Coin and Stamp Exposition Issues
The Beijing International Coin and Stamp Show commemorative issues began in 1995. The inaugural issue features the famed 1995 Silver Panda 10 Yuan coin with the Panda relaxed feasting on bamboo leaves. The obverse features the Temple of Heaven in Beijing with the words “Beijing International Coin and Stamp Show” in Chinese.

The success of these issues continue to present day. With its mixture of Panda coins, scenic and Historical coin and stamp emblems, these represent both historic and cultural significance to Chinese collector and alike.

The People’s Bank of China is to issue a silver commemorative coin of Beijing International Coin Exposition 2016 on September 9th 2016, which is the legal tender of the People’s Republic of China.

I. Design of the coin

i. obverse design

The obverse of the coin depicts the point-line design symbolizing the coins and the Earth, the logo of Beijing International Coin Exposition, as well as the title of PRC and the year date.

ii. reverse design

The reverse features the duplication of Sun Yat-sen silver coin in 1934 (the pattern of sailing boats) and the 1915 US coin (the Indian portrait), as well as the words “BEIJING INTERNATIONAL COIN EXPOSITION” in Chinese and English and the face value.

II. Specifications and mintage of the coin

The silver commemorative coin is proof in quality, 10 Yuan in face value, 40 mm in diameter, 99.9% in fineness and contains 30 grams of pure silver. The total mintage is 30,000 pieces.

III. The silver commemorative coin is minted by Shenzhen Guobao Mint Co., Ltd and solely distributed by China Gold Coin Incorporation.
