The People’s Bank of China is to issue a set of 2022 Chinese Panda gold and silver commemorative coins on October 2022. The set consists of 12 coins, including 6 gold and silver bullion coins and 6 gold and silver proof coins, all of which are the legal tender of the People’s Republic of China.
Design of the coin:
The 1,000g silver coins bear the common obverse of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests (The Temple of Heaven), the title of the People’s Republic of China and the year date; The common reverse features two juvenile pandas sliding down a snowy hill along with the face value, weight, and fineness. The 40th anniversary privy mark appears on left of the playful cubs. The designer of this reverse coin is Ms. Huang Qin. Ms. Gin is a notable numismatic designer with many Chinese commemorative coins to her credit.
The 1,000g round silver coin is official mint state in quality, 100 mm in diameter, 300 Yuan in face value, 99.9%. The maximal mintage is 20,000 pieces.
The 1,000g silver coins are minted by Shenzhen Guobao Mint, Shanghai Mint and Shenyang Mint respectively, and solely distributed by China Gold Coin Incorporation.
