2008 50th Anniversary of the Founding of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Silver 10Y Coin

The people’s Bank of China planned to issue a series of gold and silver commemorative coins for the 50th anniversary of the Founding of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on November 12, 2008. However, the issuance of the coins was delayed due to the error in the Zhuang characters. Now the error is modified, and the series of gold and silver commemorative coins is to be issued on December 6, 2008. The series of gold and silver commemorative coin consists of a gold coin and a silver coin, both of which are the legal tender of the People’s Republic of China.

Design of the coins:

Obverse design:

The silver commemorative bears the common obverse of the head of Guangxi bronze drum, the title of the People’s Republic of China and the year date.

Reverse design:

The reverse of 1 oz silver commemorative coin depicts the eternal site of China—ASEAN Exp Nanning International Exhibition Center, the ornamental lines and surfaces as well as the dove of peace, Zhuang and Chinese version of “The 50th Anniversary of the Founding of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region” and the face value.

1 oz silver commemorative coin is proof in quality, 40 mm in diameter, 10 Yuan in face value, 99.9% in fineness and contains 1 troy ounce of pure silver. The maximal mintage is 20,000 pieces.
