The 2012 Dragon 1 oz Silver Proof Lunar Coin from the New Zealand Mint celebrates the Chinese Year of the Dragon. These .999 fine silver coins had an extremely limited mintage of only 2,500 coins.

The reverse of the coin features a coiled serpentine dragon gilded in 24K gold. The legend “YEAR OF THE DRAGON” is to the left of the dragon. The denomination “$2” is to the right of the dragon along with the purity. A scalloped design acts as a border around the rim of the coin.

The 2012 New Zealand Dragon Silver Proof Lunar comes in an exquisite boat style presentation box shaped like an ancient Chinese treasure chest in gold, with a red velvet liner. It comes in either a red or gold outer cover box.
