Description

The 2016 Macau Lunar 100P Silver Monkey Coin, is the 9th issue in the Macau Lunar silver 5 oz series collection, it is issued in commemoration of the 2016 Year of the Monkey.

The obverse side (100P side with Monkey) of the coin features the outline of a witty monkey with a heavenly peach in its grasp, accompanied by a shower of peach blossoms in full bloom.

The reverse side features the Holy House of Mercy in the Historic Centre of Macau, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Holy House of Mercy has been the source of medical and social assistance for the underprivileged and needy in society. Today, a museum has been established in the building, which boasts a diverse collection commemorating the charitable works in Macao. It stands in the heart of Macau centre.

The Macau 5 oz Silver Lunars are sold out at the mint year in year out. They are highly collectable in particular the early issues with their smaller mintages.
