Description
The People’s Bank of China is to issue a set of commemorative coins for the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China since September 10th 2019. The set of coin consists of 7 coins, including 2 gold coins, 4 silver coins and 1 bicolored copper alloy coin, all of which are the legal tender of the People’s Republic of China.
I. Gold and Silver Commemorative Coins
i. Design of the Gold and Silver Commemorative coins
Obverse design:
The gold commemorative coin bears the common obverse of the National Emblem of the People’s Republic of China, the title of PRC and the year date.
Reverse design:
The reverse of the 8g gold coin features the activity logo of the 70th anniversary, the words “The 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China” in Chinese and the face value.
Specifications and mintage of the coin:
The 8g gold coin is proof in quality, 22mm in diameter, 100 Yuan in face value, 99.9% in fineness and contains 8 grams of pure gold. The total mintage is 60000 pieces.
The gold and silver commemorative coins in the set are minted by Shanghai Mint Co., Ltd, Shenyang Mint Co., Ltd and Shenzhen Guobao Mint Co., Ltd.
