The 1981 China Lunar ROOSTER 250Y 8g Gold Coin is the first coin in a 12-year cycle of Gold Lunar coins that runs from 1981 to 1992. It is the first Chinese Gold Lunar coin in what is considered one of the most popular sets of Modern Chinese coin issues.

The reverse side features a painting of a rooster standing proudly on a rock outcropping by the renowned Chinese artist Xu Beihong (1895-1956).

The obverse is an image the White Pagoda in Beijing’s Imperial Beihai Park.
