The New Zealand Mint our proud to issue this coin celebrating the Kurilian Bobtail cat. The Kurilian Bobtail is a natural breed of cat that traces its origins to the Russian Island of Sakhalin and to the Kuril Islands. While popular in Europe because of it’s laid back temprament the true phenomenon of the Kurilian Bobtail is the pom-pom appearance of it’s tail.
REVERSE:
This coin features a full coloured image of a Kurilian Bobtail cat printed on a silver background engraved with the outline of a cat and the words OUR FRIENDS and Kurilian Bobtail. The coin also features a small image of a yarn ball matched in colour to the coins delightful display case.
OBVERSE:
The obverse of the coin features the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is issued by New Zealand Mint as legal tender, under the authority of Niue Island.
