The People’s Bank of China is to issue a series of panda gold and silver commemorative coins inscribed with words for the 60th anniversary of aviation industry of the People’s Republic of China on April 14, 2011. This series consists of 2 coins, including one gold coin and one silver coin, both of which are the legal tender of the People’s Republic of China.
Obverse design:
This silver coins bear the common obverse of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests (The Temple of Heaven), the words of “60th Anniversary of aviation industry of P.R.China” in Chinese, the title of the People’s Republic of China and the year date.
Reverse design:
The reverse of 1 oz silver coin features a mother panda and her baby, characters of “1oz Ag .999” and the words of “60th Anniversary of aviation industry of P.R.China” in English and the face value.
The 1 oz round silver coin is bullion in quality, 40 mm in diameter, 10 Yuan in face value, 99.9% in fineness and contains 1 troy ounce of pure silver. The total mintage is 20000 pieces.
